MOSFET design selection: — SUNMATE
MOSFET design selection:
Once the operating conditions of the system (load current, switching frequency, output voltage, etc.) are confirmed, the selection of parameters for power MOSFETs is as follows:
The value of 1 RDSON. The lowest conduction resistance can reduce losses and ensure better system operation. However, MOSFETs with lower resistance have higher resistance devices.
2. Heat dissipation. If the space is large enough to provide external heat dissipation, it can achieve the same effect as lower RDSON at a lower cost. It is also possible to use surface mounted MOSFETs to achieve the same effect.
3 MOSFET combinations. If the space on the board allows, sometimes two devices with higher RDSON can be connected in parallel to achieve the same operating temperature and lower cost.
