Can ordinary diodes replace rectifier diodes?
A fast recovery diode is also a type of rectifier diode.
Ordinary low-speed rectifier diodes cannot replace high-speed fast recovery diodes, while high-speed diodes can instead replace low-speed ones.
Because during high-frequency rectification, the voltage changes too quickly. If the forward conduction has not yet "recovered" to the cut-off state, the rapid arrival of the reverse voltage will generate a large reverse current, increase circuit losses, and even burn out the diode.
