Can TVS tubes be used as voltage stabilizing diodes?
The replacement of diodes is what engineers want to know most.
TVS tube is a single PN junction or multiple PN junction integrated device made by semiconductor technology. It is a new type of high efficiency over-voltage surge protection device, which is widely used in over-voltage protection of sensitive electronic parts. When an abnormal overvoltage occurs in the circuit and reaches the TVS breakdown voltage, the TVS quickly transitions from a high resistance state to a low resistance state, releasing the instantaneous overcurrent caused by the abnormal overvoltage to ground. At the same time, the abnormal overvoltage is clamped at a lower level to protect the subsequent circuit from damage caused by abnormal overvoltage. After the abnormal overvoltage disappeared, the TVS resistance value returned to a high resistance state. When the circuit is working normally, TVS is in a high resistance state, which does not affect the normal operation of the circuit.
Zener diode, also known as zener diode, is a surface junction silicon semiconductor diode manufactured by a special process. After reverse breakdown, although the reverse breakdown current flowing through the voltage regulator varies greatly, the voltage at both ends remains almost unchanged. In practical applications, this characteristic is often used for voltage stabilization to obtain a reference voltage and as a level transfer. It is widely used in voltage stabilizing power supplies, electronic igniters, DC level translation, limiting circuits, overvoltage protection circuits, compensation circuits, and so on.
TVS diode and voltage regulator are two diodes with completely different functions and functions, which cannot be replaced each other!
