What is the difference between 1N4148, 1N5819 and 1N4007 diodes?
1N4148 is a switching diode, withstand voltage 100V, current 150mA, fast reverse recovery
1N5819 is a schottky diode, with a withstand voltage of 40V, a current of 1A, a reduced forward voltage and a reverse recovery time of about 10ns. It is mainly used in high-frequency circuits
1N4007 is a common rectifier diode with 1000V withstand voltage, 1A current and ms reverse recovery time. It can only be used in low-frequency circuits
The difference between 1N4148 and 1N5819:
The characteristics of high frequency, low voltage and large current are the differences between 1N5819 diode and ordinary diode. It is widely used in switching power supply, frequency converter, driver and other circuits for high frequency, low voltage and large current rectification, continuous current and protection diode.
The characteristic of 1N5819 is its ultra fast speed (low switching loss) and extremely low voltage drop (low voltage loss), but its withstand voltage is also low, usually less than 60V, making it suitable for low-voltage (<=12V) switching power supplies.
In the fast recovery speed of ordinary secondary transistors, they have high voltage drop and withstand voltage, making them suitable for high-voltage (>12V~1000V) switching power supplies.
1N4148 is a small current rectifier tube of point contact type with high speed, but the current is only 50mA. Another use of 1N5819 diode is to stabilize voltage - use the reverse characteristic. So, when the voltage resistance is low and the current is not high, it is possible to consider using a voltage regulator instead.
The reverse leakage of 1N5819 tube is relatively large. But the capacitance is small. Fast speed. But it's not as fast as 1N4148, after all, their purpose is high-frequency detection, not rectification.
