What is the function of diode? — SUNMATE
What is the function of diode?
Varactor diode: It is used in the tuner of TV as the tuning selection.
Rectifier diode: with the unidirectional conductivity of diode, alternating alternating alternating current can be converted into pulsating direct current in a single direction.
Switching diode: the resistance of diode is very small under the action of forward voltage, and it is in the conduction state, which is equivalent to a switch that is turned on; Under the action of reverse voltage, the resistance is very large, and it is in the cut-off state, just like an off switch. Using the switching characteristics of diodes, various logic circuits can be formed.
Detection diode: It plays a detection role in radio.
Limiting: After the diode is turned on in the forward direction, its forward voltage drop is basically unchanged (0.7V for silicon tube and 0.3V for germanium tube). Using this feature, as a limiting element in the circuit, the signal amplitude can be limited within a certain range.
Freewheeling diode: it plays a freewheeling role in inductance of switching power supply and inductive load such as relay.
Voltage regulator diode: voltage regulator.
Photodiode: Photosensitive device.
Visible light emitting diode: emits visible light.
Damping diode: damping.
Pressure sensitive diode: pressure detection.
Gas sensing diode: gas detection.
Laser diode: CD, DVD, laser head.
Infrared diode: emit infrared ray.
