Can the fast recovery diode be used as a rectifier diode — SUNMATE
Can the fast recovery diode be used as a rectifier diode
Because the frequency of the rectifier circuit is very low, it only has requirements for withstand voltage. As long as the withstand voltage can be met, it must be replaceable, and the fast recovery diode is also useful for rectification. That is, in the secondary rectification part of the switching power supply, due to the high frequency, only the fast recovery diode can be used for rectification, otherwise the overall efficiency of the power supply will be reduced due to the large diode loss, and the diode will be burned out in serious cases. In addition, the price of fast recovery diode is much higher than that of rectifier diode. The higher the withstand voltage is, the more expensive it is, so it is generally not used with fast recovery diode. Of course, if you only have fast recovery diodes and no general rectifiers on hand, you can use them as you want, as long as the withstand voltage is sufficient
